Anger Management Counselling with Tammy Laber

Sometimes you’re so mad you just want to explode!

Is this how you feel? Do you have trouble controlling yourself once you start to feel angry? Or are you more of the slow burn type, but once you get stirred up, it may be days before you get back to normal.

Either way, you may benefit from anger management, to help you understand your triggers and develop healthier coping strategies.

Managing your emotions effectively is a skill, and one that can be learned -- even if you didn't learn it when you were young. When you learn how to respond to anger in a constructive manner, you can minimize the frequency and intensity of your outbursts, improve self-control, and promote healthier communication skills.

Learning how to recognize the signs that you are losing it and interrupt the pattern before you explode can save your relationships, your job -- and your self-respect.

Anger management is particularly good for people who experience frequent or intense anger that negatively impacts their loved ones and overall well-being. You can learn better ways to get what you want out of life!

I use CBT, DBT and other techniques, including reframing your communication to ask for what you want with compassion instead of making hurtful accusations. Understanding the underlying reasons for your anger and regulating your emotions gives you so much more ability to choose what you want to accomplish, instead of having it chosen for you. You'll be able to communicate feelings constructively and improve your relationships with family, friends, and colleagues.
